Biography

Mark Dana is the partner in charge of the Civil Litigation Department at D'Amico · Burchfield. He is lead counsel on all litigated matters.

In September 2006, Mark successfully tried a personal injury case which resulted in a verdict totaling $2.8 Million, one of the largest verdicts in Rhode Island History. In June of 2009 Mark defended a client accused of first degree sexual assault  which resulted in an acquittal of all charges after a full jury trial.

Mark has tried more than 100 cases, both civil and criminal. He was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Rhode Island from 1988 to 1992. While there, Mark tried to verdict dozens of capital cases including murder and sexual assault cases with remarkable results.  Mark then began litigating civil cases both on the defense side and Plaintiff’s side in Federal Court and the Providence County Superior Court with great success. Today Mark has an active practice as a trial lawyer representing clients in both civil and criminal cases. In addition, Mark has tried to verdict cases in the Jurisdictions of Pennsylvania, Arizona and New York.

Mark is considered an excellent trial lawyer by his peers. In 1998 he was awarded the Dorothy Lohmann Community Service Award by the Rhode Island Bar Association for his work with the special needs population.
